Co-development of textile medical devices: partners with a clinical need sought

Director at AQ-Tech

Annecy, France

About

AQ-Tech engineers and manufactures active textile products near Annecy, in the French Alps. Our team combines mechanical engineering, embedded electronics and technical textiles, with its own prototyping workshop and series production line. We are looking for partners who know the medical need to co-develop the next generation of textile medical devices.

Partners we are looking for

  • Medical device manufacturers with a product roadmap that includes a textile, wearable or connected function.

  • Clinical teams and hospitals with a monitoring, rehabilitation or therapy need that current devices do not meet.

  • Research laboratories with a validated principle that needs to become a wearable, washable and manufacturable device.

  • Partners for European collaborative projects on wearable medical technologies.

Fields of cooperation

  • Biomonitoring. Washable garments with textile dry electrodes for ECG, EMG and bioimpedance, for home monitoring and rehabilitation.

  • Electrostimulation. Garments with integrated electrodes for rehabilitation and pain management.

  • Pneumatic compression. Textile devices with controlled inflation, with optional bioimpedance measurement.

  • Wearable airbags. Fall protection for patients and protection of medical exoskeletons.

  • Therapeutic textiles. LED photobiomodulation and heating functions.

What AQ-Tech brings

  • Mechanics, electronics and textiles designed together in one team.

  • Prototyping, washing validation with standardised protocols and test reports, and industrialisation.

  • In-house series production from 10 to several thousand units, certified medical devices included. We currently produce a Class IIa certified device, in clinical trial, and manufacture a washable electrostimulation garment in series.

What we expect from the partner

The clinical or user need, access to end users for testing, and the regulatory and market strategy. The partner's brand and intellectual property remain theirs.

Cooperation formats

Co-development contracts starting with a 6-week feasibility study, clinical validation partnerships, and consortia for European funding programmes.
