Pilot project: Transcend route optimisation for zero-emission HDV fleets with real-time traffic, tolls, and charging data

Cargoffer is a Spanish B2B logistics technology company with a production-grade route optimisation and freight operations platform called TRANSCEND. We operate in production across Iberia and France, serving more than 5,000 transport professionals.

We propose a pilot project to integrate the TRANSCEND route optimisation engine with heavy-duty vehicle (HDV) fleets aiming for zero-emission operations. The pilot will leverage our real-time traffic (DATEX-II), toll cost, and charging station (POI) data to generate optimised routes that minimise emissions, energy consumption, and operational costs while respecting vehicle range and charging infrastructure availability.

What Cargoffer brings to the pilot:

- Transcend route optimisation engine (Valhalla-based, multi-country OSM tileset, HGV profile support, time-window and emissions-aware routing).

- Tolls module for Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, Germany with expansion roadmap.

- Curated POI layer including charging stations, toll gates, rest areas, and fuel stations extracted from OpenStreetMap and Geofabrik.

- DATEX-II traffic and event ingestion for incidents, roadworks, and abnormal conditions in Iberia and France.

- Weather module for ETA reliability and disruption prediction.

- eCMR and freight exchange APIs for digital consignment notes and load-to-fleet matching.

- MCP servers enabling LLM-agent and AI-tool interaction with all the above services.

- Ready-to-use connectors for ERP systems (Odoo, SAP, Dynamics 365, Sage, NetSuite) and telematics platforms (Samsara, Geotab).

We seek a partner to provide:

- Access to a real-world HDV fleet (electric, hydrogen, or mixed) willing to participate in a pilot.

- Telematics data or integration capability (if not using our existing Samsara/Geotab connectors).

- Operational insights and use-case validation (e.g., specific routes, schedules, constraints).

- Possibly access to charging infrastructure data or collaboration with a charging network operator.

Expected outcomes:

- Demonstrated reduction in emissions and energy consumption through optimised routing.

- Validated integration of TRANSCEND with partner's telematics or fleet management system.

- A joint use case ready for scaling to larger fleets or additional European countries.

- A contribution to Horizon Europe 2ZERO partnership goals, specifically calls D5-03, D5-04, and D5-05, as well as HORIZON-CL4-2027-04-DIGITAL-EMERGING-06 (International cooperation in AI).

This pilot is ideal for a Horizon Europe project under the 2ZERO partnership, where we can act as a technical partner providing the route optimisation and data layer, while the partner provides the fleet and operational domain expertise.
