Business-side partner for transformative change: HORIZON-NATURE-2027-01-03
Director of Business Development at The Biodiversity Footprint Company
Cape Town, South Africa
About
TBFC is looking to join a consortium for HORIZON-NATURE-2027-01-03, Systemic approaches to accelerate transformative change for biodiversity.
Transformative change won’t happen unless it reaches company boardrooms, procurement and finance. We work inside that system with multinationals and international bodies, so we know where nature commitments turn into action and where they stall.
What we bring:
-
Business and finance as actors in change: biodiversity accounting, natural capital accounting and target-setting that change real decisions, not just reports.
-
Policy and standards experience: nature-policy strategy, No Net Loss policy, alignment with TNFD and ESRS E4, and involvement in the UN CBD and IPBES processes. Our team MC’d the Business and Biodiversity Forum at CBD COP15.
-
CircHive: research partner in this Horizon Europe project, which has worked with companies and public bodies to standardise biodiversity footprinting and natural capital accounting.
-
Multi-actor engagement: workshops and capacity building with companies, regulators and practitioners.
What we can contribute:
-
A business and finance work package or case studies.
-
Leverage points for change in corporate and financial practice.
-
Co-design work with private-sector actors.
South African organisations are eligible for Horizon Europe funding, and we bring a Global South perspective to systemic change.
