About
NESSTEC proposes to contribute as the downstream electrode-manufacturing and cell-validation partner. We will formulate recovered battery-grade materials into electrodes, optimise slurry and coating parameters, and manufacture electrodes using scalable roll-to-roll processing. The recovered materials will be evaluated from coin-cell screening to multi-layer pouch cells in the 1–10 Ah range through formation, cycling, impedance, rate-capability and durability testing. We will benchmark materials recovered from mixed lithium-ion chemistries and production scrap, providing feedback to recycling partners on material consistency, process adaptability and suitability for reintroduction into battery manufacturing. Our experience in the Horizon Europe FREE4LiB project, where we manufacture electrodes from recycled materials and perform pouch-cell validation, directly supports this role.
