GATE5.0 Matchmaking: Agri-Tech Community building

Registration starts on 23 Feb 2026

Welcome to GATE5.0 Matchmaking: Agri-Tech Community Building!

GATE5.0 (Green and Digital Transitions for a Sustainable European Agrifood Ecosystem) is a European-funded initiative supporting the green and digital transformation of the agrifood sector.

The project connects:

  • Agrifood SMEs, which define and present a concrete operational, sustainability or productivity challenge they want to address.

  • Technology SMEs, which present their digital services (AI, IoT, Robotics, UAV, data analytics, decision-support systems, etc.) that can respond to those challenges.

The purpose of GATE5.0 is to bring these two profiles together so they can co-design a joint innovation project.

During this two-month matchmaking process (March–April 2026):

  • Agrifood SMEs present their specific challenges through their profiles on the platform.

  • Technology SMEs present their services and technological capabilities in their profiles.

  • Both sides identify complementarities, connect via the B2Match platform and schedule bilateral meetings to explore collaboration opportunities.

To support, three online information sessions will be organised. Participants may attend the session that best fits their availability.

These sessions will explain:

  • The objectives and structure of the GATE5.0 project

  • The Open Call conditions (who can apply, eligibility criteria and funding scheme)

  • How the matchmaking process works

  • How to use the B2Match platform effectively

  • How to prepare and submit a joint proposal

📅 Session dates:

  • 10 March 2026

  • 24 March 2026

  • 7 April 2026

The goal of the matchmaking process is to form a consortium composed of at least one Agrifood SME and one Technology SME, and jointly prepare a project proposal for the GATE5.0 Open Call.

👉 The objective is to connect a clearly defined challenge with an appropriate technological solution in order to develop a collaborative innovation project and apply together.

Selected consortia under the Open Call may receive up to €118,500 per SME consortium, including:

  • Direct financial support

  • Capacity building activities

  • Participation in a structured Acceleration Programme to support solution development, validation and implementation

This matchmaking initiative represents a practical step toward transforming real agrifood needs and technological expertise into funded innovation projects with tangible impact.

How do participants benefit from attending the matchmaking process?

Consortium building with a clear purpose
Identify and connect with complementary partners (Agrifood + Technology SME) to jointly prepare a proposal for the GATE5.0 Open Call.

Structured 1:1 matchmaking meetings
Pre-scheduled bilateral meetings (15–20 minutes) via the B2Match platform to assess collaboration potential and project feasibility.

Clear pathway to funding
Understand eligibility conditions, evaluation criteria and how to submit a competitive proposal to access up to €118,500 per consortium.

Practical guidance and support
Access to online information sessions and step-by-step explanation of the application process and consortium requirements.

Access to real agrifood challenges and digital solutions
Agrifood SMEs present concrete needs; Technology SMEs present applicable solutions. The matchmaking process facilitates alignment between both.
