About
LSMU Kaunas hospital is prominent clinical validation center for research and innovations. LSMU Kaunas Hospital has tangible potential in biomedical and clinical research, it has already established 11 profile clinics (cardiology, internal medicine, infectious diseases, geriatrics, skin and venereal diseases, general surgery, children’s diseases, nursing, radiology, pathology, laboratory medicine) and 6 more to be established by the end of 2026 (orthopedic traumatology, anesthesiology and general practice, obstetrics and gynecology, rehabilitation, psychiatry, neurology); it has 35 inpatient departments and about 1500 beds for inward patients; approximately 400 thousand annual patients, almost 800 thousand annual healthcare services, medical interventions, including 250 thousand outpatient consultations and up to 14 thousand surgeries; highly qualified multi-functional team of more than 3,000 secondary and tertiary level medical specialists and administrative personnel with encouraged possibilities for personal academic and professional growth at scientific, international conferences and internships, extensive possibilities to perform scientific research and acquire qualification; sucessful collaboration with academic and biomedical R&D partners – Lithuanian University of Health Sciences, Kaunas University of Technology, Vilnius University, Lithuanian Sports University, MedTech and BioTech Startups, AI and IT developers, CRO and international science and innovation organisations as well as desire and ambition for innovations, modern treatment technologies and methodology, scientific and pedagogical activities and accelerating novelties of healthcare services in LSMU Kaunas Hospital.
