Geriatrics center was established in 2023 on a basis of Geriatric unit for older patients with the purpose to help them to remain active in society as long as possible, even in the presence of chronic diseases and syndromes that occur in old age. Geriatrics center is providing services aimed at restoring and strengthening the basic health functions, allowing to preserve a dignified lifestyle for longer, for the elderly to live in their own home as long as possible, to avoid certain diseases. Center has all kinds of care: inpatient department, day care unit and outpatient services. Scientific projects will be implemented in the Geriatrics center, training courses for doctors and nurses will be held, and there will be a base of methodical guidance for geriatric service specialists.

The Department of Infectious Diseases has become one of the largest treatment places in the country to fight against the coronavirus during Covid pandemics. More than 200 patients were treated at the same time in this unit and other departments transformed for this purpose for almost 3 years. Department is a part of the Clinic of Infectious Diseases where the scientific projects are performed and training courses for doctors, nurses and students are implemented.

Psychiatry Clinic is one of the biggest units of Kaunas Hospital providing all kinds of care for adult patients from all regions of Lithuania. The clinic provides comprehensive mental health care services - outpatient, psychosocial rehabilitation and inpatient, so the clinic's specialists can prescribe the most appropriate treatment for each patient. There is a modern Crisis Intervention Center and a Day Care unit where psychological, social and – if necessary – medical help can be received by those who need it. Clinic staff are active participants and initiators of professional development events, cooperating not only with the staff of mental health care institutions in the country, but also with colleagues from abroad. The clinic of psychiatry is a training base for residents, a practice place for many students studying medicine and psychology. Those participating in the learning process conduct scientific research and share the obtained results with the clinic staff.
