MSCA PF Hosting Offer at Sabanci University - Migration and Asylum in Turkiye

Dr. Kristen Beihl at Sabanci University is looking for outstanding post-doctoral researchers who are willing to apply for Marie Sklodowska – Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowships (PF) 2023 call.

HOST: Kristen Biehl has close to two decades of academic and professional research expertise in the field of migration and asylum in Turkey, working with a wide range of international, national and local actors and different communities. Her main research interests include ethnographically studying transformations of urban society and space through migration and diversification processes, examining the governing effects of migration and asylum policy frameworks, gendered dimensions of and civil society engagement with migration. She is currently the coordinator in Turkey on two international projects funded by EU’s Horizon 2020 RIA program called ReROOT (2021-2025) and Whole-COMM (2021-2024), examining the impacts of post-2015 migrations at different territorial scales at the ethnographic and policy levels. In recent years, she has also started carrying out research linked to environmental change and climate change, including her current project examining the local socio-political dynamics of climate change in Turkey’s Aegean Region through the case of the 2021 summer wildfires. She is also currently a member of the EU funded Cost Action called Social Sciences and Humanities for Transformation and Climate Resilience (SHiFT).
