MSCA PF Hosting Offer at Sabanci University - Local Politics and Regime Transition

Political Science Program at Sabanci University is looking for outstanding post-doctoral researchers who are willing to apply for Marie Sklodowska – Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowships (PF) 2023 call.

HOST INSTITUTION: Sabanci University (SU) is one of the leading research universities, ranking 1st in Turkiye in THE World University Rankings in 2023 and ranking 3rd in Turkiye in the QS World University Rankings in 2023.

In QS World University Rankings 2023 by subject, SU was ranked among top 500 universities in Social Sciences & Management (6th in Turkey). FASS has multiple graduate programs in economics, psychology, political science, conflict analysis and resolution and European studies, visual arts and communications design, history, cultural studies, and gender studies. The pre-existing cooperation schemes with EU-funded projects allow significant research collaboration with multiple international partners and different stakeholders. FASS has a highly competitive graduate student training and public outreach in multiple disciplines in social sciences and is a visible actor in social sciences and humanities nationally and internationally. Research at SU is an interdisciplinary effort extending across all branches of science, technology and arts, taking place in various centres and institutions of the research process, with 3 faculties and 8 research centers. On a national level, SU has been one of the most successful universities in Turkey in terms of the number of EU Framework Programmes funded projects per faculty member.

Comparative Politics group at Sabancı conducts research on Turkish politics from a comparative perspective. Groups’ subjects of interest include regime transition, distributive politics, and polarization. The group is open to different methodologies as long as strong empirical evidence and appropriate methodology are used in the analysis.

OFFER DESCRIPTION & REQUIREMENTS: The potential applicants are expected to have strong background in comparative politics with a particular interest in regime transition and local politics. Researchers of any nationality in possession of a doctoral degree and those who have not resided in Turkey for more than 12 months in the three years before the call deadline (14 Sept 2023) are eligible to apply.
