POLNORIS: Veolia Foundation Poland seeks a consortium needing municipal engagement and environmental education

Veolia Foundation Poland is looking to join a POLNORIS consortium as a practice partner connecting applied research with municipal needs.

We are interested in projects addressing urban green transition and climate resilience, particularly energy, water, circular economy and the organisational or social barriers to implementing environmental solutions.

WHAT WE CAN CONTRIBUTE

Depending on the project, our contribution could include:
• identifying user needs and implementation barriers through dialogue with municipalities, utilities and communities;
• coordinating stakeholder consultations, workshops and learning between cities;
• supporting the design and organisation of pilot activities;
• gathering practitioner feedback on proposed tools, services or methods;
• developing environmental education activities and materials;
• communicating research results to practitioners and supporting their practical use.

We are developing an Education Centre initiative that combines the diagnosis of a municipal environmental challenge, learning from a reference city and facilitated work on concrete next steps. This could provide a starting point for research on decision-making, collaboration and the transfer of environmental solutions between local contexts.

WHO WE WOULD LIKE TO MEET

We welcome contact from Polish research organisations or companies coordinating a POLNORIS proposal, and from prospective consortium partners in Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein.

We are particularly interested in teams with a defined research challenge and a substantive role for a partner working with practitioners. We would aim to co-develop a clear work package, with agreed responsibilities, deliverables and a dedicated budget.

Participation would be subject to confirmation of eligibility, thematic fit, resources and internal approval. Access to specific municipalities, utilities, data or pilot sites would need to be agreed separately. The Foundation cannot commit other Veolia Group entities to participate.
