Partnerships in selective extraction, battery recycling and critical raw material recovery

SolveLi is looking for long-term research and industrial partnerships in the development and validation of selective extraction technologies for lithium and other critical raw materials.

Our expertise combines supramolecular chemistry, molecular recognition, solid–liquid extraction (SLE), liquid–liquid extraction (LLE), and process development for selective separation from complex inorganic and secondary raw-material streams.

We are particularly interested in cooperation in the following areas:

• selective recovery of lithium from black mass derived from spent lithium-ion batteries, with particular emphasis on LFP-type batteries,

• selective recovery of critical and strategic raw materials from industrial residues and secondary streams,

• hydrometallurgy and solvometallurgy,

• solvent extraction, SLE and LLE,

• process integration with existing recycling and refining technologies,

• continuous extraction and process intensification,

• scale-up and pilot validation,

• battery-material and feedstock characterisation,

• techno-economic analysis and life-cycle assessment.

We are especially interested in partners that can provide access to real industrial feedstocks, pilot infrastructure or existing recycling processes. Our preferred cooperation model is joint technology development, where SolveLi contributes selective extraction chemistry, molecular extractants and process concepts, while partners contribute complementary process engineering, industrial validation, downstream processing or access to relevant raw-material streams.

We are open to cooperation with universities, research organisations, SMEs and large industrial companies, both within POLNORIS and in future European R&D programmes.
