Semi-technical fermentation and downstream processing facility for TRL 4-6 demonstration

About
IBPRS-PIB operates a semi-technical fermentation line that bridges the gap between laboratory proof of concept and industrial implementation — the stage where most bio-based processes stall.
Infrastructure:
- Bioreactors from laboratory to semi-technical scale [uzupełnij: zakres objętości, np. 5 L - 1000 L]
- Downstream processing: separation, concentration, drying, formulation
- Process monitoring and control, with data available for modelling and TEA
- Facilities for production of sample batches for partner testing and market validation
What this enables in a project:
- TRL 4-6 demonstration of bio-based routes to chemicals, materials and formulated products
- Production of representative quantities for downstream partners to test in their own processes
- Generation of scale-up data required for LCA, techno-economic assessment and industrial replication planning
We are open to hosting demonstration activities for consortia in Innovation Action projects, including processes originating from other partners.
Role in a consortium: demonstration and validation partner.
The bacterial strains used in the preparations are registered as silage additives by the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), according to Regulation (EC) 1831/2003 on additives for use in animal feed.
