About me

World Gastronomy Network Kft. is a European member company of the non-profit organization World Gastronomy Network Inc.

The World Gastronomy Network Inc. is a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming global food systems through sustainable gastronomy, community building, and innovative technology. Founded by Gábor András Varga in Delaware, USA, with roots in Mátészalka, Hungary, and Salem, Germany, WGN bridges local producers, consumers, and food enthusiasts to promote short food supply chains and reduce environmental impact.

WGN’s flagship initiative is the WOGI EuroTaste Ride, an ambitious 8-month, 18,000 km cycling tour across 28 European countries and 240 towns, starting March 1, 2026, from Salem, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Utilizing EuroVelo routes (e.g., EV15, EV1, EV8), cyclists Gábor András Varga and Marcell Varga will stop daily to prepare sustainable national dishes—like Hungarian lecsó, Italian caprese salad, Spanish gazpacho, or Greek moussaka—using local market ingredients in collaboration with chefs and producers. These recipes will be shared on the WOGI app, fostering community engagement and cultural exchange.

Central to WGN’s mission is the WOGI app, launching March 1, 2026, a mobile gastronomic social media platform and online marketplace for short food supply chains. The app connects farmers directly with consumers, offering AI-driven recipe recommendations and a WOGI-token system for rewards. It empowers rural communities, supports the EU’s Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) sustainability goals, and aims to reduce food transport emissions by 20%.

WGN’s broader activities include the WOGI Farm-to-Table platform for direct producer-consumer links and the WOGI HealthPlate division for health-focused sustainable nutrition. Through partnerships with tourism boards (e.g., Visit Portugal, Visit Sweden), Slow Food, and influencers, WGN builds a global network. The organization targets 100,000 European users by 2026 and 1 million worldwide by 2029, amplifying sustainable practices via daily social media (#WOGIRide, #EuroTaste, #SustainableFood), a documentary film, and PR campaigns.

WGN’s commitment to planetary boundaries ensures resilient, inclusive food systems, celebrating Europe’s culinary diversity while driving eco-friendly change. Join us at www.wogi.pro to support this revolution!
