About
World Gastronomy Network Kft. – Driving Sustainable Gastronomy and Urban-Rural Innovation
The World Gastronomy Network Kft. (WGN Kft.), based in Mátészalka, Hungary, is a dynamic organization dedicated to revolutionizing sustainable gastronomy and short food supply chains. As part of the World Gastronomy Network group, alongside World Gastronomy Network Inc. (Delaware, USA, nonprofit) and American National Dishes LLC (Delaware, USA), we aim to promote global culinary heritage while significantly reducing the ecological footprint of the gastronomy sector through innovative technologies and community-driven initiatives.
Our flagship project, the WOGI (World Gastronomic Innovation) platform, is a cutting-edge social media and marketplace application that integrates:
-
Digital Traceability: Blockchain-based solutions for transparent, verifiable sustainability data across food supply chains, connecting local producers (farmers, fishers, livestock keepers) with consumers.
-
AI-Driven Personalization: Artificial intelligence to deliver tailored recipe recommendations and promote sustainable food choices.
-
Farm-to-Table Marketplace: A digital platform fostering direct connections between producers and consumers to support short supply chains and reduce waste.
-
WOGI Token: A blockchain-based loyalty program incentivizing sustainable practices among producers and consumers.
We are leading the CYCLEFOOD NEXUS: Sustainable Gastronomy and Mobility for Inclusive Urban-Rural Futures project under the DUT Call 2025 (Horizon Europe), aligning with the Circular Urban Economies and 15-minute City Transition Pathways. This innovative project promotes sustainable urban-rural food systems through:
-
Circular Economy Practices: Closed-loop solutions for packaging, logistics, and recycling.
-
Community-Driven Entrepreneurship: Inclusive agrotourism models empowering women, youth, and underrepresented groups.
-
Participatory Living Labs: Real-world testing via an 8-month, 18,000 km European cycling tour (starting March 1, 2026) across 28 cities to showcase sustainable gastronomy and cycling tourism.
-
Policy Development: Data-driven insights for EU Green Deal and Farm to Fork Strategy.
