Resilient green and social infrastructure
Environmental and civil engineer at Eskisehir Tepebasi Municipality
Eskişehir, Türkiye
About
The growing urban heat island effect and its impact on climate change have made efficient water use in green spaces increasingly important. Traditional parks that rely on lawns and heavy irrigation often waste water, whereas smart sensors, automated irrigation, and renewable energy systems can significantly reduce both water and energy consumption.
As Eskişehir Tepebaşı Municipality, through the consortium we are forming, we aim to pioneer innovative, data-driven and sustainable green infrastructure solutions that inspire cities of the future. Demonstrating these technologies through comparative pilot sites supported by scientific data can introduce innovative approaches to sustainable urban landscaping. Additionally, engaging the public and students through interactive displays and producing educational and scientific outputs are key goals of the project.
