Turning behaviour into a driver of urban transitions
About
We believe that solutions aimed at promoting multimodal mobility, greener streets, energy-positive districts, circular systems etc. can only succeed if people use them, trust them, and change their routines around them.
At The Behaviouralist we specialise in applying behavioural science, user-centred design, and field experimentation to help projects tackle the behavioural changes needed for urban transformations.
We partner with cities, innovators, and researchers to:
-
Understand the habits, incentives, and barriers shaping urban travel and energy use,
-
Design policies and services that encourage uptake – from shifting travel modes and rethinking parking to engaging residents in PED housing retrofits,
-
Support communication and participation strategies to navigate public contestation and build trust,
-
Measure behavioural impacts to show what really works.
We focus on understanding what drives people’s decisions, testing what works, and embedding solutions that last. If you’re developing a project that needs to achieve behaviour change in one way or another, we’d love to team up.
