The asphalt group at the Swiss Federal Laboratory, Empa, specializes in research on pavement materials. We have an excellent laboratory and expertise in pavement engineering, material development, and design of sustainable solutions for practical applications. We have a world-class laboratory and would like to help develop sustainable solutions for cities of the future. We have worked on various ideas that can help materialize it, including reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, cooling of pavements, increased climate resistance, recycling, and other topics.
