Research related to urban metabolism : MFA, LCA, mapping
About
Our research focuses on the interaction between urbanization processes and urban metabolism: on all material flows (study of the metabolism of a socio-economic system) or more particularly on construction materials and construction waste. It is based on methods for the analysis of material flows and stocks at scales ranging from the neighborhood to the region using top-down static and bottom-up dynamic approaches. It includes a modelling of flows allowing their forecasting according to different technical-spatial-socio-economic scenarios. This understanding aims to contribute to the definition of circular economy strategies including spatial and urban planning policies.
