Weaving soil mechanics and biology for resilient and sustainable infrastructure
About
We are interdisciplinary research group with a broad scope of expertise on soil as a material and as a living ecosystem. We investigate soil physical, mechanical and engineering properties and study soil-inhabiting microorganisms, fauna and plants. In addition, we work with emerging alternative materials for pavement infrastructure.
Our methods include laboratory characterization and modelling of key soil properties important for creation of reliable, resilient and sustainable coastal and urban infrastructure.
We are enthusiastic about joining consortia and contributing to collaborative projects with our expertise in geotechnical engineering, soil science, and soil biology.
