ABOUT ASCENDRO

Ascendro is a German-Romanian engineering company that builds and runs software-critical systems. Our team of around 45 senior engineers works from Timisoara, Romania, and from Germany, close to the DACH clients we serve.

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT

Most software vendors treat go-live as the finish line. The system is delivered, the invoice is issued, and operating it becomes someone else's problem. We work the other way around: we take end-to-end responsibility for architecture, delivery and production operations - uptime, incidents, deployments, security - and we stay accountable for how the platform behaves in production over years.

This matters most when software becomes business-critical faster than the infrastructure around it matured. A pilot turns into a production service. The internal team knows the domain but was never sized to run a platform 24/7. That is where we are useful.

IIOT AT PRODUCTION SCALE

Connected-device platforms are our core engineering ground, not an adjacent interest:

• Up to 100,000 connected devices on a single HVAC manufacturer platform, moving around 40 GB of traffic per hour against 80 TB of stored data

• 10,000+ vehicles and 20,000 concurrent connections on a car-sharing platform for BMW

• 10,000 devices on an AWS IoT Core architecture for a medical equipment manufacturer

• Machine connectivity for a manufacturing park where most equipment had no network presence at all

We work across the broker landscape rather than one vendor stack - HiveMQ, EMQX, Kafka, ActiveMQ - and across cloud, bare-metal Kubernetes and on-premise deployments, including plants where data is not permitted to leave the site. Device-side experience runs down to the protocol layer: CANbus, RS232, I2C, I2S, Bluetooth and USB, as well as custom drivers and embedded software.

THE DEVOPS FOUNDATION

We do not rebuild operations from scratch for every client. Our DevOps Foundation is a reusable, cloud-agnostic backbone for CI/CD, observability, monitoring, alerting and security, already deployed across multiple live environments. It shortens the path from prototype to stable production and removes the need to hire a platform organisation. It runs in the cloud or on-premise. We deploy it, and then we operate it.

TRACK RECORD

• Ariston Group (Wolf): IoT platform modernisation and third-party backend integration, scaled from 40,000 to 100,000 devices

• BMW: connected fleet platform for car-sharing, with back-office and mobile-app data access

• Gematik: components for Germany's public healthcare infrastructure, including connector boxes, card terminals, custom drivers and embedded software

• TH-OWL (Technische Hochschule Ostwestfalen-Lippe): MQTT-connected laboratory machines and the Digital Education Bridge platform for Industry 4.0 training

• Samsung: release management for large-scale software delivery

Several of these relationships have run for many years.

CERTIFICATIONS AND ASSURANCE

ISO 27001 for information security and TISAX, the automotive sector's security assessment standard. Security is not a separate workstream: image provenance, network segmentation, centralised identity with MFA, encrypted secrets and tested recovery are built into the platform every application we operate runs on. Our work on German healthcare infrastructure was delivered under one of Europe's stricter regulatory regimes.

HOW WE WORK

Senior squads rather than interchangeable headcount, with 85-90% engineer retention - the people who built your system are the people still operating it three years later. Founders are directly reachable. We are deliberately boutique, we do not compete on hourly rate, and we do not sell developers by the hour.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

1. Industrial, energy and technology companies with a connected-product or platform that is now business-critical and needs long-term engineering and operational ownership - alongside a stretched internal team, or as the team that runs it.

2. Consortia preparing European or national proposals that need a credible software, IIoT and cybersecurity work-package partner. We have delivered inside university research collaborations before. Domain expertise is usually well covered in these consortia; who operates the platform after the pilot ends usually is not. That is our part.
