A Digital Economy is taking shape before our eyes, creating new challenges and breakthrough opportunities. This transformation is driven by the rapid acceleration of digitization and the widespread adoption of Industry 4.0 and Industrial IoT (IIoT) technologies. As this advanced digital landscape expands, enterprises gain immense growth opportunities, but also face emerging cyber threats—making robust cybersecurity solutions more critical than ever. In parallel, modern digital industries are increasingly integrating smart energy storage and sustainability practices to ensure long-term resilience and resource efficiency.

The goal of this international brokerage event is to create a strong network of research and development institutions, business and industry partners, European and national institutions, and non-governmental organizations. • Edge Computing: Processing data directly at the edge of the network (at the sensors) to eliminate transmission delays to the cloud.

• Data Science & AI: Artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, and advanced data analytics.

• Simulation & Engineering: CAD/CAM/CAE, Digital Twin, 3D printing, and digital simulation of production and logistics processes.

• Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS): They bridge the physical world (machines, sensors) with the digital world (algorithms, software). They operate in a feedback loop – real-time machine data drives the algorithm, which immediately optimizes the machine's performance.

• MES / APS / SCADA Systems: They are responsible for real-time production data collection, batch tracking (traceability), order management, and live machine scheduling.

• Energy: Advanced energy storage systems and sustainable industrial development.

• Digital Transformation: Digital economy & society, and digitization of product and service offerings.

During this edition DEICy 2026, we focus in particular on issues related to energy storage, e.g.: Industrial Energy Storage Systems (IESS):

Through integration with automation systems and energy storage, EMS systems allow for drastically reduced operating costs, ensuring production continuity, and effectively balancing factory power supply.

• Energy Cost Management: Real-time power monitoring for Peak Shaving and production planning (MES/ERP) integration for Load Shifting.

• Power Quality & Continuity: Ultra-fast UPS buffering against microsecond voltage drops for CNC machines/robots, and automated blackout protection.

• Intelligent Management & Grids: Smart Battery Management Systems (BMS), state-of-charge (SoC) estimation, Smart Grid integration, and Demand Response.

• Hardware & Innovation: Energy Harvesting for IoT sensors, micro-storage, supercapacitors, thermal, mechanical, and chemical storage technologies.

• Cybersecurity + IoT + Energy Storage: Blackout-as-a-Service Prevention, Hardware Industry Energy Storage-Level Security, Infrastructure Protection - Securing IoT endpoints from cyberattacks that could damage physical energy storage facilities
