Cryoneurolysis as an opioid-sparing intervention in polypharmacy – device SME seeking consortium

R&D Engineer at Niepubliczy Zakład Opieki Zdrowotnej ETER-MED

Warszawa, Poland

About

ETER-MED Sp. z o.o. is a Polish medical device developer and healthcare provider (Gdańsk, R&D Centre in Straszyn). We offer a non-pharmacological route to reducing analgesic load in patients taking three or more medicines.

The intervention.
CRYO-AI is an ultrasound-guided cryoanalgesia system with disposable echogenic cryoprobes. Percutaneous cryoneurolysis produces reversible, non-destructive interruption of nociceptive conduction lasting weeks to months, without the systemic exposure that analgesics carry.
Target: CE-marked Class IIb AI medical device. Current maturity: TRL [4].

Fit with the topic.
Analgesics are among the drug classes accounting for most adverse drug reactions in older patients. A durable, repeatable, device-based analgesic option supports therapeutic dose reduction and de-escalation strategies, and provides a measurable interventional arm for a de-escalation study in patients with comorbidities and polypharmacy — including chronic and post-surgical pain in people living with and beyond cancer.

What we contribute.
The device and its clinical configuration; a Polish clinical site with patient recruitment; EU MDR 2017/745 and ISO 14155 regulatory work; SME exploitation, IP and route to market.

We are looking for:
a coordinator; clinical pharmacology and pharmacogenomics groups to anchor the ADR and biomarker core; geriatric, oncology and pain centres; health-economic and Real-World Data partners.
