Horizon Europe 2027 – Human-Centred, Trustworthy & Implementable AI for Healthcare

EDHEC Business School is interested in joining and co-developing a consortium for HORIZON-HLTH-2027-03-TOOL-08 – “Towards Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) for healthcare”.

This topic offers a strong opportunity to combine technological excellence in frontier AI with the human, behavioural, organisational and societal dimensions required for its trustworthy and effective development and future implementation in European healthcare systems.

EDHEC can bring a strong Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) contribution across several core dimensions of the project, including:

• Trust, acceptance and human-AI interaction: investigating the determinants of trust in frontier AI among patients, healthcare professionals and other stakeholders, including perceptions of benefits, risks, transparency and responsibility;

• Organisational readiness and implementation: assessing how healthcare organisations, professional practices and care delivery models may need to evolve to enable the safe and effective integration of increasingly advanced AI systems;

• Equity and inclusiveness: examining how frontier AI may affect different population groups and identifying the conditions required to ensure inclusive, representative and equitable AI-enabled healthcare;

• Stakeholder engagement and co-creation: engaging patients, healthcare professionals, researchers, innovators, policymakers and other relevant actors through qualitative and quantitative research, participatory methods, workshops and co-design activities;

• Behavioural research: analysing attitudes, adoption intentions, resistance, expectations and behavioural responses to advanced AI among healthcare professionals and patients;

• Roadmap and policy contribution: translating stakeholder, behavioural and organisational evidence into actionable recommendations and contributing to the development of the European roadmap for the next generation of frontier AI models for healthcare.
