About
MYRA is a Swedish deep-tech company focused on developing a self-powered, implantable biosensing platform for continuous, real-time molecular and physiological monitoring. The company works at the intersection of biosensor technology, hardware engineering, bioelectronics, and translational research, with the aim of creating a scalable platform that can support both preclinical research and future clinical applications.
The organisation has a distributed international structure with laboratories in Sweden, New Zealand, the Netherlands and Poland. This setup supports a multidisciplinary development model, allowing different parts of the innovation chain to be advanced in parallel across several sites. In Stockholm, Sweden, at Karolinska Institutet Myra has it’s main lab. It is a 400 sqm state of the art laboratory for full vertical integration of every aspect of the product development. In New Zeeland Myra has a highly efficient biosensor lab with 15+ years of experience in developing unique, tailored biosensors. The company’s hardware team is based in Amsterdam developing unique PCB, power solutions and firmware. In Poland we have our innovation hub – testing new exploratory ideas within biosensing in a go / no go format.
MYRA’s scope of work covers the design and refinement of implantable sensing systems, biosensor architecture, electrode design, signal generation and stability, data acquisition, and wireless transmission. The company’s activities are strongly aligned with advanced biomedical innovation, especially in areas where continuous measurement and high-resolution biological data can improve research quality and decision-making. In this sense, MYRA is not only developing a device, but also building a broader platform for trajectory-based biological monitoring.
