About
Who we are
The SJD Pediatric Heart Center at Sant Joan de Déu Barcelona Children's Hospital is one of Spain's leading paediatric cardiology programmes and a national reference centre (CSUR) for congenital heart disease, paediatric cardiac surgery, and arrhythmology and electrophysiology. The centre provides more than 8,000 consultations annually and performs over 500 cardiac interventions each year, including approximately 250 heart surgeries.
Our multidisciplinary team integrates paediatric cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, intensivists, neonatologists, anaesthesiologists and specialised nursing professionals, allowing us to deliver comprehensive care from diagnosis to long-term follow-up of children with congenital and acquired cardiovascular diseases.
We are particularly interested in Horizon Europe projects addressing:
-
Prevention and management of chronic cardiovascular diseases in children and adolescents.
-
AI-based prediction of disease progression and treatment response.
-
Predictive biomarkers for congenital and inherited cardiac disorders.
-
Digital health, telemonitoring and remote patient management.
-
Portable and point-of-care diagnostic technologies.
-
Precision medicine approaches for paediatric cardiology.
-
Medical devices and innovative cardiac imaging solutions.
-
Regenerative medicine and tissue engineering for cardiovascular applications.
What we bring to a consortium
-
Access to large, highly specialised paediatric cardiology and congenital heart disease cohorts.
-
Expertise in paediatric cardiac surgery, arrhythmias and electrophysiology.
-
Longitudinal patient follow-up and real-world clinical data.
-
Patient recruitment capacity for observational and interventional studies.
-
Clinical validation of digital health solutions and AI-based tools.
-
Advanced cardiac imaging and diagnostic capabilities.
-
Biomarker discovery and validation opportunities.
-
Evaluation of point-of-care technologies in paediatric settings.
-
