About
WHO WE ARE
The Sant Joan de Déu Barcelona Children's Hospital is a European leader in paediatric healthcare innovation, leveraging data intelligence, digital transformation and artificial intelligence to improve outcomes for children and adolescents affected by complex and rare diseases.
Through our Digital Strategy and Data Directorate, we are building a data-driven healthcare ecosystem based on robust governance, interoperability standards (OMOP, SNOMED CT, HPO), multicloud infrastructures and federated access models. We combine high-quality clinical data, real-world evidence and advanced analytics to support research, clinical decision-making and healthcare innovation.
We are also advancing the concept of the "Liquid Hospital" through telemonitoring, teleassistance and integrated digital care pathways, extending specialised care beyond traditional hospital settings. In parallel, we develop and validate AI solutions in close collaboration with clinicians, researchers, patients and technology partners, ensuring safe, trustworthy and human-centred implementation.
We are particularly interested in Horizon Europe projects addressing:
-
Development of predictive biomarkers using AI methodologies.
-
Frontier and next-generation AI models for healthcare.
-
Clinical decision support systems and explainable AI.
-
Digital health and remote monitoring solutions.
-
Federated health data infrastructures and interoperability.
-
Real-world evidence and healthcare analytics.
-
Prevention and management of chronic diseases through digital technologies.
-
AI-enabled diagnostics and point-of-care solutions.
-
Data-driven approaches for rare diseases and personalised medicine.
