Mechanobiology expertise for Horizon Europe partnerships: tissue mechanics, fibrosis and regeneration
Associate Professor at Fundació de Recerca Clínic Barcelona-Institut d’Investigacions Biomèdiques August Pi i Sunyer (IDIBAPS)

About
Our group at the University of Barcelona seeks to join Horizon Europe consortia requiring expertise in mechanobiology. We investigate how extracellular matrix stiffness, cell-generated forces and mechanical history regulate cell migration, phenotype and tissue function, particularly in fibrosis and cancer.
We offer:
• Engineered cell culture environments with controlled stiffness and stiffness gradients.
• Quantitative measurements of cell traction forces, migration and mechanosensitive responses.
• Experimental approaches to investigate mechanical memory and mechanical conditioning.
• Mechanobiological assessment of disease models, biomaterials and regenerative strategies.
We can lead a work package investigating how mechanical cues influence disease progression, tissue repair or therapeutic responses, and provide experimental data for computational models.
