Organoids and bionanomaterials customization

About
Our research group specializes in the generation of high-fidelity, nervous system organoids from hNSCs and human iPSCs. What sets us apart is our dual-competency in stem cell biology and materials science, allowing us to move beyond standard Matrigel-based cultures toward fully defined, reproducible, and physiologically relevant microenvironments.
Key Capabilities & Infrastructure
-
Precision Neural Modeling: Standardized protocols for iPSC differentiation into complex 3D neural assemblies, capturing neuronal-glial interactions and regional specificity.
-
Custom Biomimetic Biomaterials: We design and synthesize tunable hydrogels and scaffolds (e.g., stiffness-matched, functionalized with specific ECM ligands) to provide the necessary mechanical and chemical cues for maturation.
-
Multi-Organoid Versatility: Our bioengineering pipeline is "organ-agnostic." We can customize biomaterials to support the development of other organoid types (e.g., vascular, cardiac, or hepatic), making us an ideal partner for multi-organ-on-chip or systemic disease modeling projects.
-
Advanced Analytics: Our network of collaborators encompasses expertise in electrophysiological recording (MEA), high-resolution imaging, and transcriptomic profiling to validate organoid maturity and response to pharmacological intervention.
