Youth Health Behaviour Change: Intervention Design & Implementation Partner

Health Behaviour Change | Intervention Design | Adolescent NCD Prevention at Center for Tolerance and Physical Well-being Education

Kaunas, Lithuania

About

LOOKING FOR RESEARCH PARTNERS TO TURN HEALTH KNOWLEDGE INTO LASTING BEHAVIOUR CHANGE

Preventing chronic diseases in children and adolescents requires more than health information. It requires understanding why unhealthy behaviours persist and how family and social environments influence everyday choices.

We seek European research institutions, universities, healthcare organisations and innovation partners to develop, implement and evaluate behavioural interventions for children, adolescents and families.

OUR COOPERATION OFFER

The Center for Tolerance and Physical Well-being Education is a Lithuanian non-profit specialising in health behaviour change, adolescent obesity prevention, family-centred interventions and community health education.

We combine behavioural counselling, programme development, multidisciplinary lifestyle interventions and professional training with practical experience in schools and communities.

Our primary interest is implementation research: adapting evidence-informed interventions to real-life environments, engaging local professionals and supporting sustainable outcomes.

WHAT WE CAN CONTRIBUTE

  1. Behavioural intervention design

Developing intervention components addressing motivation, emotional regulation, family dynamics and barriers to behaviour change.

  1. Real-world implementation

Experience delivering adolescent lifestyle and health education programmes in Lithuania. Our established relationships with schools, municipalities and Public Health Bureaus can support local implementation partnerships, subject to institutional agreements.

  1. Adolescent and family engagement

Practical expertise in engaging adolescents experiencing difficulties with weight management, lifestyle habits and emotional well-being. We can support participatory intervention design, recruitment strategies and culturally appropriate communication.

  1. Professional training

Designing and delivering training for educators, public health specialists and intervention facilitators, translating research protocols into practical methods.

  1. Implementation research and evaluation

Supporting feasibility studies, intervention adaptation, implementation processes and real-world evaluation alongside academic partners providing advanced research methodology and statistical expertise.

  1. Digital innovation

Exploring digital and AI-supported behavioural education tools connecting adolescents, families and professionals, in collaboration with research and technology partners.

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

Our experience includes multidisciplinary adolescent obesity prevention programmes, family-based lifestyle interventions, professional education and community health initiatives.

A retrospective study involving 55 adolescents participating in an intensive lifestyle intervention was published in 2023:

Adolescent Obesity Prevention and Complex Lifestyle Interventions, International Journal of Multidisciplinary and Current Educational Research, 5(2), 91–96.

Our team has also contributed to research on emotional intelligence training and psychosocial well-being.

HORIZON EUROPE 2027 – PRIORITY CALLS

PRIMARY: HORIZON-HLTH-2027-01-DISEASE-10 (GACD)

Prevention and management of chronic non-communicable diseases in children and young people.

We are interested in consortia addressing childhood obesity, lifestyle-related risk factors, health inequalities, family-centred prevention and sustainable behaviour change.

SECONDARY: HORIZON-HLTH-2027-02-DISEASE-01-two-stage

Innovative healthcare interventions for non-communicable diseases.

We welcome projects integrating behavioural support, family engagement and community-based implementation.

PARTNERS AND COOPERATION

We seek universities, public health research institutes, clinical research teams, implementation scientists and digital health developers.

Our proposed role is behavioural intervention development and implementation, including community engagement, professional training, pilot delivery and real-world evaluation.

We are open to joining existing consortia or jointly developing new project concepts.

OUR CENTRAL QUESTION

How can health interventions become part of everyday family, school and community life rather than ending when a research project finishes?

We seek partners interested in answering this question through rigorous research and practical cooperation.
