Physical Activity and Lifestyle Expertise for Youth NCDs | HORIZON-HLTH-2027-01-DISEASE-10
Associate Professor in Physical Activity & Sports Sciences - CIBER on Frailty and Healthy Aging at Universidad de Huelva
Huelva, Spain
About
I am an Associate Professor at the University of Huelva (Spain) and a researcher affiliated with CIBERFES, the Spanish Biomedical Research Network on Frailty and Healthy Ageing.
My research focuses on physical activity, sedentary behaviour, exercise and lifestyle interventions, and their impact on health, disease prevention and quality of life. My work combines epidemiological research, objective assessment of movement behaviours and the design and evaluation of interventions.
I am interested in joining international consortia addressing the prevention and management of chronic non-communicable diseases in children, adolescents and young adults, particularly through evidence-based interventions and their implementation in real-world settings.
Expertise I can contribute:
-
Design, adaptation and evaluation of physical activity, exercise and multicomponent lifestyle interventions.
-
Objective assessment of physical activity and sedentary behaviour using accelerometry and wearable technologies.
-
Assessment of physical fitness, functional capacity, body composition and health-related outcomes.
-
Epidemiological research, study design, data analysis and evaluation of intervention effectiveness.
-
Support for evaluating the implementation, acceptability, adherence, sustainability and scalability of interventions.
-
Scientific coordination, dissemination and contribution to multidisciplinary research projects.
My research track record includes over 50 peer-reviewed scientific publications, with more than 70% published in Q1 journals, as well as experience leading competitively funded research projects and collaborating with multidisciplinary research teams.
Collaboration sought:
I am looking to join consortia led by universities, research institutes, healthcare organisations or public health institutions, particularly those developing implementation research projects involving children and young people in underserved populations.
I am open to different approaches and intervention settings, including educational, clinical, community-based and digital environments.
I would welcome opportunities to contribute as a research partner or work package leader, particularly in areas related to movement behaviours, lifestyle interventions, health assessment and intervention evaluation.
