About
The Department of Internal Medicine at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LSMU) seeks to participate as a clinical research and validation partner in international consortia investigating innovative interventions for neurodegenerative diseases.
Our department operates within Lithuania's largest internal medicine clinical center, with more than 200 inpatient beds and substantial numbers of older, frail, and multimorbid patients, including individuals affected by neurodegenerative disorders.
Our academic team includes three professors, three associate professors, ten researchers with doctoral degrees, and four doctoral candidates, supporting multidisciplinary clinical research and scientific collaboration.
We can contribute to patient identification and recruitment, clinical trial implementation, assessment of treatment safety, evaluation of comorbidities and polypharmacy, and longitudinal monitoring of clinical and functional outcomes.
We particularly welcome collaboration with neurology and neuroscience research groups developing integrated pharmacological and nonpharmacological interventions, offering complementary expertise in internal medicine and the management of medically complex patients.
