About

Our research group - Cardiovascular Health and Imaging Lab - at CNIC, Madrid, Spain , https://www.cnic.es/en/investigacion/cardiovascular-health-and-imaging, has extensive experience in school‑based health promotion programs and holistic behavioural interventions for children and adolescents. We design and implement interventions and evaluate their impact through cluster‑randomized clinical trials, using wearables, validated questionnaires, and anthropometric and biological assessments.

Using this approach, we have successfully completed several trials involving more than 5,000 children and adolescents.

We are interested in contributing as a consortium partner to HORIZON‑HLTH‑2026‑01‑STAYHLTH‑02: Behavioural interventions as primary prevention for Non‑Communicable Diseases (NCDs) among young people.

We can contribute evidence‑based interventions targeting adolescents aged 12–18 years for the primary prevention of major NCDs—primarily cardiovascular disease—with a strong focus on empowerment and self‑management (e.g., health education and health promotion). Our group has experience integrating gamification components and accelerometer‑based monitoring of physical activity, sedentary behaviour, and sleep, including gender‑ and socioeconomic‑specific analyses.

Please feel free to contact me if you believe our expertise could support your consortium or proposal.

Best regards
