About

GAMETHERAPY intends to develop an innovative project focused on digital behavioural interventions as a form of primary prevention of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) among young people. The project addresses the growing prevalence of chronic stress, anxiety, and psychological burden in adolescents and young adults, which represent significant risk factors for the development of specific NCDs (e.g., cardiovascular diseases, metabolic disorders, and sleep-related conditions).

The main goal of the project is to design, develop, and test engaging VR therapeutic applications that enable young users to train stress management and coping skills through immersive scenarios, gamified tasks, and evidence-based psychological techniques (e.g., breathing exercises, grounding, and cognitive strategies). The solution will be designed to promote healthy habits, increase psychological resilience, and improve the ability to regulate stress in everyday situations.

The project will deliver a scalable digital tool applicable in school environments, prevention programmes, and community-based services, with the potential to demonstrably reduce NCD risk factors among young people through modern, science-based behavioural interventions.
