About
COOSS is a private social enterprise, not for profit organisation, providing health care and social services to people in need all over the Marche region, namely fragile and vulnerable groups. Born in 1979, it counts nowadays more than 3,000 employees (health social and care staff) and it provides services to about 14,000 users.
COOSS manages a great number of structures: residential settings, nursing homes, daily centres, family-like communities, protected homes mainly for elderly and disabled people. Some of them are managed on behalf of the Local Authorities, while others are COOSS property.
COOSS also provides territorial and home services, as home assistance, soft (socialization) assistance, advanced (nursing) assistance, accordingly to the level of dependency of the user.
Through its Research and Training Department, has gained a wide experience in adapting the digitalization and innovation challenges in the care services chain, somewhere anticipating the implementation of innovative solution and stimulating the health and social systems to take an action of innovation. Thanks to the participation to initiatives related to the introduction of innovative solutions in health and care (Horizon2020, Framework Programme, AAL, CIP-ICT-PSP and more), COOSS can contribute with its extensive expertise in the following topics of intervention:
-
users’ needs and requirements analysis;
-
scenario definition and scenario planning;
-
analysis of functional and not functional specifications;
-
pilot tests of validation and experimentation;
-
development of ethical codes and protocols;
-
health care and social services sector impact analysis;
-
start-up and follow-up of business initiatives in health care and social sector (business models);
-
engagement of users, stakeholders, networking;
-
contribution to dissemination and exploitation of results and innovative solutions.
The large number of users cared for and assisted through its services (minors, elderly, persons with disability, mentally impaired, etc.) together with the expertise achieved in the field of European research, makes COOSS a good partner for all the tasks involving end-users, with particular emphasis on needs analysis, scenario definition large/small-scale pilots and field test.
Namely, COOSS can engage and implement pilot cases and experimentation targeting the care and wellbeing of older adults and persons with mental and physical disabilities and diseases. The pilot activities are implemented in residential facilities as well as via home care services, then outlining and providing two different scenarios:
1.Targeted Experimentation: test of solutions within sheltered and protected housing solutions and accommodations, in environments monitored H24 by professional care operators and nurses.
2.Diffused Experimentation: test of solutions within home environments. It is a testing activity with final users in different social, health and economic conditions and contexts, with the remote support by Call Centre.
