Active Safety & Cognitive Guidance for Seniors: Wearable-based Fall Detection and Familiar Voice Support for Care Institutions.
Co-Founder/CEO at VocoMemo
Bruxelles, Belgium
About
The Vision: A Vocal Cognitive Prosthesis VoCoMemo is developing a unique solution centered on the psychological power of familiar voices. Our core innovation acts as a vocal cognitive prosthesis for seniors with cognitive decline. By using recorded messages from loved ones, we aim to provide personalized guidance that reduces "sundowning" effects (anxiety and agitation) and fosters autonomy.
Strategic B2B Focus: Solving Pain Points in Care Institutions To address the critical challenges of nursing homes and EHPADs, we are integrating our vocal core into a comprehensive safety and productivity platform. Our development focus includes:
-
Improving Care Compliance: Using familiar voices to encourage daily routines (medication, hygiene) to reduce refusal of care and friction between residents and staff.
-
Active Safety Features: Developing discrete wearable technology for high-accuracy fall detection and geo-fencing (anti-wandering).
-
Supporting Staff Productivity: Reducing the repetitive workload and stress of care teams by automating routine prompts and de-escalating anxiety through familiar vocal landmarks.
Current Stage: Product Development & Customer Discovery We are currently in the Product Development phase, actively conducting Customer Discovery with nursing home directors and healthcare professionals. Our goal is to ensure a strong Product-Market Fit and a clear ROI for professional care providers.
What we are looking for in a Horizon Europe Consortium:
-
Co-development & Pilot Sites: We are looking for partners (hospitals, nursing home networks, or research centers) interested in testing and validating our approach in real-world settings.
-
Clinical/Psychological Validation: Experts in dementia care and non-pharmacological interventions to help measure the impact of vocal guidance on resident well-being.
-
Technical Synergy: Partners with expertise in IoT infrastructure or health-data security to complement our wearable-based solution.
