Multiomics Tool for Chemoresistance

Health Researcher at IRCCS Azienda Ospedaliera Metropolitana, plesso Ospedale Policlinico San Martino

Genova, Italy

About

Despite the advance of molecular studies, chemoresistance remains a major challenge in oncology. This phenomenon limits the efficacy of therapies across diverse cancer types. This project aims to develop a scalable, open-access, and open-source multiomic online platform to explore proteomic and transcriptomic data from in vitro models of chemoresistant cancer cell lines.
The online platform will allow to investigate resistance mechanisms, evaluate new drug’s efficacy, and identify novel therapeutic targets. Preliminary mass spectrometry (MS)-based proteomic data have already been generated. These datasets have been integrated with publicly available NGS-mRNA data from GEO, in a multi-omic analysis to provide initial real data for differential expression and pathway enrichment studies. In fact, a secondary key objective is to expand the dataset by generating genomic, transcriptomic and proteomic molecular fingerprints of additional drug-resistant cell lines for cross-cancer comparisons.
