About
Through the Chair of Thermodynamics and Solar Research Center at TUM, is developing an international research and demonstration initiative focused on renewable industrial heat, thermal energy storage, sector coupling, and integrated multi-energy systems.
The objective is to develop, model, optimize, integrate, and experimentally validate flexible energy architectures that can combine renewable electricity and heat with thermal storage and intelligent control to support industrial decarbonization and improved energy-system flexibility.
The research addresses the full pathway from thermodynamic and dynamic modeling through experimental validation to industrial-scale demonstration, including renewable heat generation, low- and high-temperature thermal energy storage, heat upgrading, sector coupling, digital twins and controls, techno-economic assessment, and integration with industrial processes.
We are seeking complementary universities, research and technology organizations, industrial end users, technology providers, engineering partners, and demonstration-site operators interested in forming strong CETPartnership consortia.
Particularly relevant partners include organizations with expertise or infrastructure in industrial heat, thermal storage, heat pumps, renewable CHP, process integration, digital energy management, industrial demonstration, and techno-economic validation.
TUM can contribute expertise in thermodynamics, energy-system modeling and optimization, solar and multi-energy system integration, experimental research, controls, and research-to-demonstration development.
We are especially interested in partners who can contribute complementary technologies, industrial use cases, demonstration facilities, and pathways toward replication and scale-up across Europe and participating CETPartnership countries.
