Development of a qualification procedure for well casing connections for underground hydrogen storage
About
Join an ongoing joint industry project that is modifying current industry standards for testing threaded connections for well casing to consider the special requirements for storing hydrogen underground. The project is building on recently completed full-scale qualification tests that exposed premium well casing connections to numerous pressure and axial load cycles with continuous exposure to high-pressure hydrogen. The revised test procedures with hydrogen will be submitted to standards organizations to inform updates to existing connection qualification standards.
