KAMBA AI Living Lab in Central Africa – Field pilot for International Cooperation in AI

About
CFTP KAMBA is looking for European and international partners to build or join a consortium under Horizon Europe Cluster 4 – Digital, Industry and Space, especially the topic HORIZON-CL4-2027-04-DIGITAL-EMERGING-06 – International cooperation in AI.
We are developing the “KAMBA AI Agri-Livestock Living Lab RCA” initiative, a field-based African Living Lab in the Central African Republic. The objective is to test and adapt practical AI, local data, IoT-enabled monitoring and decision-support tools in real-life conditions.
The proposed first pilot focus is intentionally narrow and measurable:
1. Soil humidity, local climate data and sowing-period recommendations;
2. Agriculture-related beekeeping data, as beekeeping in the Central African Republic is mostly practiced by farmers and rural households as a complementary income-generating activity.
This approach would allow the same rural participants to collect both agricultural and beekeeping-related data, such as soil humidity, rainfall, sowing periods, crop conditions, flowering periods, hive activity, honey harvests, honey quality and basic traceability.
KAMBA can contribute as a field-based Living Lab partner by providing:
- real pilot sites and use cases in the Central African Republic;
- access to rural communities, farmers, women entrepreneurs, young trainees and trainers;
- local data collection opportunities;
- technical and vocational training capacity;
- user feedback and field validation;
- institutional links with the agriculture and livestock sectors.
We are seeking partners with expertise in:
- artificial intelligence and responsible AI;
- IoT and sensor-based monitoring;
- Earth Observation and local data integration;
- digital agriculture and climate-smart farming;
- beekeeping, food safety and agro-processing;
- data platforms, dashboards and decision-support systems;
- Horizon Europe project coordination.
KAMBA does not aim to coordinate the proposal. We are looking to join a strong consortium as a field pilot and Living Lab partner in Central Africa, bringing real use cases, local beneficiaries and institutional anchoring.
