About
Greenback is an Aotearoa New Zealand climate technology company building the verification and registry infrastructure that makes ecosystem services payments possible at scale. We operate at the intersection of regenerative agriculture, distributed ledger technology, and international environmental standards — providing the data and governance layer that sits between farming practice and corporate sustainability markets.
What distinguishes our approach is the farmer acquisition channel. We enter farms through existing organic certification networks, giving us access to producers who are already operating within documented management systems, already subject to third-party audit, and already oriented toward environmental outcomes. This dramatically reduces the verification burden and cost compared to conventional carbon project onboarding.
We are a pre-pilot stage company targeting our first verified credit generation in Q4 2026, with confirmed verification partnership and anchor offtaker relationships in place. Our founding team brings operational experience inside New Zealand's leading organic certifier, full-stack software development capability, and deep sector relationships across the organic and regenerative agriculture community in Aotearoa New Zealand and Australia.
As a Horizon Europe Associated Country partner, we offer European consortia genuine Pacific Rim geographic reach, a functioning verification architecture ready for research integration, and the ability to contribute real-world farm data from a distinct bioregion. We are seeking consortium partners working in biodiversity observation, ecosystem services valuation, nature-based solutions scaling, organic farming competitiveness, or agricultural data infrastructure — where Pacific Rim deployment would strengthen the global relevance and impact of the proposed work.
