Greenback is designing an observation-to-registry pipeline that would integrate remote sensing, ground-truth ecological measurement, and distributed ledger verification to produce tamper-proof, auditable farm-level environmental outcome data for organic farms in Aotearoa New Zealand. The distributed ledger governance layer — providing immutable provenance and chain of custody for ecological data — is a key design feature intended to make farm monitoring data credible for both scientific and regulatory purposes. This pipeline is at design and early development stage; we have not yet built the registry component or validated the data integration methodology in the field.

We hold a signed letter of intent from an anchor offtaker — a leading certified organic food company operating across Aotearoa New Zealand and Australia — confirming commercial intent to purchase verified credits once the system is operational. This means the Earth intelligence architecture being designed has a real-world market application driving its requirements, not just a research specification.

We are seeking consortium partners with Earth observation, remote sensing, AI-for-environment, or distributed ledger data governance expertise, where the challenge of making multi-source farm observation data scientifically robust, verifiable, and policy-relevant is a shared research interest. We contribute domain expertise in agricultural verification systems, a clear applied use case anchored to commercial demand, and the Pacific Rim bioregional and regulatory context as a distinct deployment environment for testing observation and governance methodologies.
