The University of Food Technologies (UFT) in Plovdiv, Bulgaria offers BSc, MSc and PhD programmes in all aspects of food technology and engineering and biotechnology. UFT is the key provider of competent and qualified employees for professional carriers in the food and biotechnology businesses, educational organisations, administration and control authorities in Bulgaria.
UFT has modern education laboratories and research infrastructure for all food-related fields and biotechnology. The university also has six pilot plants where students gain hands-on experience in the production of bakery products, meat products, dairy products, brewing, food preservation and catering. Apart from the regular university courses, the UFT team organizes various courses in the food area for the public and the industry.
UFT is actively involved in research and extension services in the fields of food technology and engineering, food quality and safety, and biotechnology, and has established close cooperation with various national and international academic, governmental and non-governmental organizations, as well as industrial partners.
