HORIZON-CL6-2026-01-CIRCBIO-07: Advancing the European bio-based innovation enabled by biotechnology and biomanufacturing concepts
Associate Professor at University of Food Technologies
Plovdiv, Bulgaria
About
We conduct scientific research in the field of industrial biotechnology and obtaining bioproducts from microorganisms, especially yeast. Good relationships have been established with leading biocompanies in Bulgaria. We are focused on molecular biological research, microbiome, innovative solutions for new bioproducts from fractionation of yeast biomass and biofuel.
We are interested in proposals focused on:
Advancing towards validation at a pilot-scale;
Development of innovative bio-based solutions, with positive and quantifiable impact on climate and biodiversity, and circularity of the European bioeconomy;
Advancing the convergence of biotech and life sciences with nature-based solutions, e.g. for environmental applications, carbon sequestration, biodiversity protection/enhancement, aligned with (bio-)circular economy principles (e.g. cascading biomass use), ensuring the environmental fate and sustainability is considered quantitatively at the earliest stage;
Expanding ERA with countries from Eastern Europe.
