Scaling Innovative Food Systems for Nutrition, Circularity, and Inclusive Entrepreneurship in Africa

Main Objectives

  1. Enhance local food processing value chains for crops like cassava, yams, pulses, cocoa, fish, and millets using sustainable, low-energy, and biotech-based methods.

  2. Reduce post-harvest losses and waste through circular processing, by-product utilization, and innovation scaling.

  3. Accelerate start-ups and SMEs, especially women, youth, and diaspora-led businesses, with mentoring, incubation, and funding.

  4. Promote healthy and nutritious food by integrating life sciences and nutrition science in the food innovation process.

  5. Strengthen cross-continental collaboration through engagement with EU and AU stakeholders and related research initiatives.
