ProVeg joining Horizon Europe RIA on Green Transition in African Food Processing

ProVeg is seeking to join an existing or forming consortium applying to the Horizon Europe topic HORIZON-CL6-2026-02-FARM2FORK-14 on the green transition of food processing systems in Africa.

ProVeg contributes expertise in plant-based food systems, protein diversification, sustainable diets and multi-actor collaboration. We are particularly interested in projects focusing on underutilised crops such as pulses, soy and millets, and on food processing approaches that deliver safe, healthy nutrition while avoiding over-processing.

ProVeg can support project activities related to:
– sustainable and innovative processing of plant-based foods, including fermentation and other low-impact techniques,
– reduction of post-harvest losses and food waste through circular and bioeconomy-oriented approaches,
– mentoring, acceleration and cascading funding schemes for start-ups and innovative SMEs,
– stakeholder engagement across the food system, including farmers, processors, NGOs and civil society,
– dissemination, policy alignment and uptake of results at EU and international level.

We are keen to collaborate with African and European partners and to contribute to projects aligned with AU–EU priorities on food and nutrition security, climate action and sustainable energy, as well as relevant Global Gateway and NDICI-funded initiatives.

ProVeg is open to contributing as a work package leader, tasks leader or partner, particularly in areas related to stakeholder engagement, SME support, dissemination, policy impact and market-oriented scaling of project results.
