Legume-Based Fortified Food Innovation Partner — West Africa

Vellas Global Nutrition Ltd is a NAFDAC-certified agro-processing SME based in Enugu, Nigeria, incubated at the Technology Incubation Centre Enugu. We have developed a proprietary six-stage anti-nutritional factor reduction protocol applied to underutilised indigenous legumes including Bambara nut, African black bean, African yam bean, and Pigeon pea, transforming them into fortified flour and functional food products.

Our work directly addresses protein-energy malnutrition, micronutrient deficiency, post-harvest losses, and Nigeria's critical dependency on wheat imports. We bring over a decade of field traction, indigenous knowledge systems, NAFDAC regulatory experience, and established community supply networks across Southeast Nigeria.

We are seeking European research institutions, food technology centres, universities, and bioeconomy partners to co-develop scalable, evidence-based processing innovations under Horizon Europe Cluster 6 — particularly FARM2FORK-13, FARM2FORK-14, BIODIV-06, and CIRCBIO-09. We can contribute as an African SME partner, field implementation site, and market access gateway for West Africa.
