HORIZON-CL6-2025-02: Enhancing plant protein production to bolster the resilience of agricultural systems and EU self-sufficiency in plant protein used as feed
About
We can conduct field experiments to investigate
- the effects of biodiversity-friendly management practices on grain production from grain legumes (used for feed such as soybean), forage production from fodder legumes and mixture of legumes and grasses or cereals, soil fertility, carbon sequestration, water retention capacity, and soil nutrient status
- The effects of cultivating new species and cropping systems on farm incomes and agricultural sustainability are being studied.
- To determine forage quality parameters (the contents of crude protein, crude fat, ADF, NDF, IVDMD, total digestible nutrients, and metabolic energy) of crops that will be tested in the study.
In addition, we can organise workshops or field days where the scientific results of the project are shared with stakeholders such as farmers, rural committees, and farmer associations to facilitate the adoption and dissemination of the cultivation of protein crops.
