About
IHAR-PIB has a long standing expertise and significant achievements in crop improvement through research on plant genetics and breeding. We work on all major field crops such as wheat, rye, barley, triticale, maize, potato, sugar beet, rapeseed, soybean, other grasses and energy plants. We focus on plants' resistance to pests and pathogens, tolerance to abiotic stresses as well as on agronomic and quality traits. We conduct also breeding activities and research on resilient cultivars dedicated for organic (ecological) cultivation systems. Such improved crop cultivars can contribute greatly to strengthening agroecology and sustainability of plant production.
We are looking for project opportunities in crop breeding research and innovation ecosystem for competitive, resilient, and sustainable agriculture.
