Interest in joining HORIZON Europe consortia on biodiversity, plant proteins, resilient crops and grassland sustainability
About
The Annual Forage Legume Germplasm Bank (BGLPA) and the Laboratory of Radiometry and Remote Sensing (LARADREMS), both part of the Scientific and Technological Research Center of Extremadura (CICYTEX), express their interest in collaborating with consortia to prepare proposals under the HORIZON Europe program, within the following topics:
HORIZON-CL6-2025-01-BIODIV-03 – Strengthening taxonomic approaches for biodiversity
HORIZON-CL6-2025-01-BIODIV-12 – Breeding for resilience: enhancing multi-stress tolerance in crops
HORIZON-CL6-2025-02-FARM2FORK-04 – Enhancing plant protein production
HORIZON-CL6-2025-02-FARM2FORK-07 – Improving grassland management in European livestock farming systems
HORIZON-MISS-2025-05-SOIL-10 – National hubs and science-policy interfaces for soil health
HORIZON-MISS-2025-05-SOIL-11 – Citizen engagement and soil management
HORIZON-MISS-2025-01-CLIMA-01 – Climate risk assessment for local authorities
We offer internationally recognized and consolidated research infrastructures, including:
-
BGLPA, with over 6,000 accessions from 67 species and more than 50 years of experience in conservation and phenotypic, nutritional, molecular, and functional characterization. It is ranked as the fourth largest global collection of temperate forage legumes.
-
LARADREMS, equipped with hyperspectral and multispectral sensors for non-destructive characterization of seeds, plants, and vegetative cover, as well as the development of predictive models using artificial intelligence.
Both infrastructures focus on applied innovation in Atlantic and Mediterranean agroecosystems, with strong capacities to generate scientific knowledge, develop digital tools, and transfer technology in key areas such as:
-
Plant resilience to climatic and edaphic stress
-
Improvement of plant-based protein production
-
Sustainable grassland management and ecosystem services
-
Functional taxonomy supported by spectroscopy and genomics
-
Environmental education, citizen engagement, and support for public policies
Our proven experience in European projects and our strong analytical, experimental, and knowledge-transfer capacities position us as a committed and technically robust partner. We are open to joining both newly forming and already established consortia.
