Jiksak Bioengineering has developed synapse induction microbeads that reliably induce synapse formation with motor or glutamatergic neuron axons in both standard 96-well plates and the proprietary Jiksak B-type microchip. This innovative system eliminates the need for co-culture with target cells, streamlining experimental design and execution.
Through in-house and collaborative efforts, Jiksak and its partners have identified and patented synaptogenic compounds using this screening platform.
The beads are ideally suited for:
• High-throughput drug screening, enabling efficient identification of neuroactive compounds.
• Mechanistic studies into the pathogenesis of synaptopathies such as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), myasthenia gravis, Charcot-Marie-Tooth Type 2 (CMT2)
